Core II: Our Final Dwelling: Queer Hospice

Queer experience can help shape institutional architecture to aid in the creation of spaces that are phenomenologically tied to Queer existence and that enrich our domestic lives. Questioning the heterocentricity of end-of-life care and its lack of equity helped redefine programs within this Queer Hospice. A place where Queer people can prepare for death, which is often a lonely and isolating experience for the many who die without children and family to care for them. An architecture focused on becoming an instrument in assisting in the process of death and the symbiosis between nature and sensory experiential spaces in palliative care.
